CBR Brave – Ice Hockey

The Lazarus-like resurrection of the CBR Brave in 2014 sparked a new era for ice hockey in the ACT and, five years on, this resurrection was complete when the Brave secured their very first Goodall Cup with a dramatic 4-3 overtime win against the Sydney Bears. The Goodall Cup capped an amazing season for the Brave in which they set the record for the most wins and points in an AIHL season, securing the Cup, an exclamation mark on the careers of veterans Mark Rummukainen, Jordie Gavin and Dave Lewis.  The Brave’s impact locally was profound, with almost all home games at the “Brave Cave“ sold out, around 20% of spectators new to the sport and registrations for junior Ice Hockey programs at record levels.
