FAQ’s and Event Details


How will I join the virtual event?

The virtual event will be played on YouTube, all finalists will be sent an invitation with a link to join the event 24 hours before the event, otherwise members of the community can watch via a link on the CBR Sport Awards website. Click the link a little before 12.30pm on Wednesday 16 December 2020 and start watching. If you can, we suggest connecting your laptop, phone or tablet to your computer using an AppleTV, Chromecast or HDMI cable so you can watch on the big screen! You won’t need a YouTube account to watch the event and its Free.

Will you be able to see me during the virtual event?

No, finalists and all other viewers will be able to sit back, relax and enjoy the event. You will watch the MC introduce the awards and announce the winners.

Do I have to do anything during the event?

We would love it if you could take photos of how you’re celebrating at the time and upload them to your social media accounts using the hashtag #CBRSPORTAWARDS .

How long will the event go for?

The event will run for approximately 40 minutes.

What if I miss the event?

If you are unable to watch the event live, you will be able to watch it as many times as you like on YouTube like any other YouTube video at a later time.

What happens if I don’t get the invitation?

If your invitation gets lost somewhere in the world wide web, you can still access the link to join the virtual event by going on the CBR Sport Awards webpage (www.cbrsportawards.com.au).  You can click on the button on the homepage to access the event. You can also get the link from the Sport and Recreation Facebook page which will post about the event on the morning of the event.

Can I forward the link to my friends and family?

Yes! Feel free to share the link with anyone you think might want to join us. This might be your employer, colleagues, trainer, family, friends, nominator or anyone else you can think of! There is no limit to the number of people watching the event.

What happens if I win?

If you win your category you may be contacted by the Media and Communications team about doing media interviews on Wednesday afternoon or the days following the event. If you win, keep an eye on your inbox and keep your phone with you. The CBR Sport Awards team will be in touch with you within a few hours after the event to arrange your attendance at a meet and greet with Minister Yvette Berry, Minister for Sport and Recreation in the coming days to receive your trophy.
