Sue Powell

Canberra’s Sue Powell needs little introduction following her stellar career as a para-cyclist which has included multiple world and national records and world championships, as well as Olympic and commonwealth medals. In 2016 Sue dominated the national para-track championships in Adelaide and from there went from strength to strength at the world championships in Italy and then Paralympics in Rio, where she won both a silver and a bronze medal. Sue’s continued pursuit of excellence at the very top echelon of her sport inspires all around her. Sue dedicates a large amount of her time to supporting her cycling club in its endeavours, including by undertaking marshalling duties, mentoring athletes and attendance at bunch rides sharing her experiences and motivating others to chase their dreams. Sue is also a strong advocate for safer cycling, and frequently volunteers her time to assist Pedal Power and the Amy Gillett Foundation with their campaigns for safer cycling.
