ACT Government Message

It has been a challenging year for our community and sport within it – bushfire smoke, hail and a pandemic have challenged us like never before.  In saying this, great results, stories and some fantastic outcomes have still emerged in Canberra sport – this gives us more than enough reason to recognise and again celebrate the CBR Sport Awards.

However, seemingly like everything else in this crazy year, the 2020 CBR Sport Awards will be a little different, with the decision made to not hold the annual gala event which was scheduled for early December.  Instead, we will be taking a different approach to announcing our finalists and winners and we look forward to sharing details of this soon.

At this time we encourage you to pause and reflect on all that has been achieved this year (somewhat against the odds!) and consider a nomination to this year’s awards, including the Minister’s Awards for Excellence.  Nominations are now open and close on Monday 2 November 2020.

There will be no inductions made to the ACT Sports Hall of Fame in 2020, holding further inductions over to next year when I hope that we can again congregate in person and celebrate these very special contributions.

We look forward to you being part of the CBR Sport Awards in 2020.
