The Tokyo Paralympic Games was one of the greatest experiences of James’ life. He delivered a very inspiring performance in his T36 classification – a 400m Gold and 100m Silver Medal against the world’s best competitors. James set a new Paralympic record with a 52.8 second in the 400m event.
Leaving Tokyo with gold and silver around his neck, the potential impact of his achievement was not lost on James when commenting on his gold medal performance: “I’ve got a headache and I hurt, but it’s all worth it … if I can give confidence to at least one kid with a disability, then I’ve done my job well.”
