Canberra Raiders – National Rugby League

The Canberra Raiders are the ACT’s highest profile sporting team competing in the National Rugby League.  In 2016 the success of the Raiders both on and off the field has helped unite the ACT and surroundings regions giving locals a sporting team they can be truly proud of.  The Raiders are one of the leaders in the Canberra community and have spent around 600 hours in the community this year helping to promote the game and nurture community spirit. Starting the season with experts tipping the them not to make finals the Raiders have overcome many obstacles showcased the true meaning of team and team spirit finishing second on the NRL ladder at the end of the regular season. They have showed the community what it is not to give up and to follow your dreams, and that anything can be possible with patience, dedication and passion in your chosen field. The team and all its supporters have been able to successfully capture the imagination of the sporting public both in the ACT and nationally.
