A dragon boater since 2004, Gillian has contributed to the sport of dragon boating at club, ACT and national levels. She has been a participant, an event organiser and a coach, but her most outstanding contribution has been as a race official and mentor and trainer of officials.
In 2008 Gillian became an accredited international race official with the international Dragon Boat Federation and has played a significant role in the development of structured training and professional development for race officials by the Australian Dragon Boat Federation.
Gillian officiates in senior roles at the Australian Dragon Boat Championships and assists in officiating in regional areas in NSW and Victoria. She played a key role in organising the Australian Dragon Boat Championships held in Canberra in 2011.
