Nathan Lyon is the finest Australian Test bowler to come through the ACT cricket pathway and is widely regarded as one of the best spinners in world cricket over the past decade.
In 2019 Nathan, or “Garry” as he is known, was a critical cog in Australia’s summer series against India and Sri Lanka, including snaring two wickets in his Manuka Oval homecoming. He took home Test-Player of the year at the Allan Border Medal and was part of a successful Ashes campaign, passing the great D.K Lillee on the list of Australia’s all-time wicket takers along the way.
