Samuel Harding

In 2022, Sam Harding became PTVI Australian and Oceania champion winning the Australian Paratriathlon and intellectual impairment championships on the Gold Coast and the Oceania paratriathlon championships held in Stockton NSW.

He capped off this year with a silver medal in the Men’s paratriathlon for vision impaired athletes at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games with his guide Luke Harvey.

Embodying the phrase when i get knocked down, I get up again, Sam’s journey to the silver medal at the Commonwealth Games was just that. He took up paratriathlon in late 2021 to have a rest year and a break from track running.

With a history of tandem cycling and swimming, it is perhaps not surprising that Sam has taken up paratriathlon, but his meteoric rise to become Australia’s leading PTVI para-triathlete has exceeded his expectations.
