In 2025, the Canberra Brave set out to do something no Australian ice hockey team had attempted before: move a lesser-known winter sport into one of the country’s largest indoor sporting venues, the AIS Arena. Across the season, nearly 33,000 people attended Brave games at the AIS Arena – every single home game a sell-out. Families, first-timers, and long-time supporters filled the venue, turning a gamble into a resounding success. Memberships grew, sponsor interest increased, and the Brave’s profile surged both locally, nationally and internationally.
