2024 CBR Sport Awards winner James Turner would again stand tall in 2025.
After not taking the 400m crown in the 2024 Worlds in Japan, September’s World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi offered James a chance for redemption. In a hot field he would run 52.18 seconds, fending off his nearest challenger by just 0.07 seconds.
It was Australia’s first gold of the Championships and the 12th global title of James’ stellar career.
