Making his debut for the Australian Boomers in the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, 201cm Alex Toohey has proved to be a complete two way player, having progressed through the ACT pathway and worked on his game at the NBA Global Academy in Canberra since 2020.
When Alex made his senior national men’s debut for Australia, he recorded four rebounds, two assist and one steal in 8 minutes and 41 seconds of court time.
Alex has represented the ACT in the under 14 through to under 20 age groups. He led the ACT to fourth place in the 2022 Under 20’s Championships averaging 16.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 4 steals per game to be named tournament MVP.
Earlier this month Alex committed to College with the Division 1 Gonzaga Bulldogs in the USA.
