After only being announced in November 2015, the Canberra $75,000 ATP Challenger was held from the 9-16 of January 2016. Capacity crowds enjoyed a stellar field, with10 of the top 100 players in the world choosing Canberra as their warm-up event for the Australian Open. Streamed live and with people flying in from all over the world the event provided an estimated $580,000 injection into the local economy. Hailed a success by the players and the ATP, the event returns to Canberra in 2017.
