Jason Croker

Jason Croker was born in Crookwell NSW, and ended up forging a highly successful professional career that spanned over 18 years. Jason holds the record as the most capped Canberra Raiders player of all-time with 318 appearances A talented utility player, Jason was drafted into the Canberra Raiders Junior Rep program representing the Green Machine at 15 years in the Harold Matthews Cup. Consistent fine performances resulted in a first grade debut at 18. In 1994 Jason was part of the 1994 Premiership winning Canberra Raiders team. A fine positional player, Jason’s try in the 1994 grand final brought his season’s total to a club record-equalling 22 tries in a season which still remains today. Jason was given representative honours, representing Country NSW on 3 occasions, New South Wales 5 times, and Australia in 5 Test matches during the 2000 World Cup. At the end of the 2006 season Jason ended his career at the Raiders to further his career abroad having played 318 matches (Club Record), and scored 120 tries (Club Record). Jason spent three seasons abroad with the Catalans Dragons Club in France. After a further 62 matches for the Catalans Dragons he decided to retire at the end of 2009. Jason and his family returned to Canberra after his stint overseas, and remains involved with rugby league locally, passing on his vast experience in the profession to aspiring youth through the Canberra Raiders Cup competition. Throughout his career he collected plenty of awards including Player of the Year, Player’s Player, Most Consistent player, Rookie of the Year and in 2000 he also collected Rugby League’s Dally M Lock of the Year award.   RUGBY LEAGUE Born: 10 March 1973 Inducted: 2014   Full Member
