Pink Tennis, the oldest LGBTQIA+ group in Australia, has existed within the Canberra community for over 40 years. Welcoming all, in particular the LGBTQIA+ community, the group aims to create a welcoming environment for communities that may not feel sport is a safe place for them. Pink Tennis understands the joy, comradery, support, and health benefits that come with being part of a sporting community and therefore strive to break down the barriers for the LGBTQIA+ community with active programs at Turner Tennis Club and North Woden Tennis Club. The organisation has also played an important role in advocacy working alongside the ACT Government, community service providers, and Tennis Australia in developing inclusion policies and diversity programs.
